The Center for Disease Control has recently determined that 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Further, 1 in 23 boys will receive a diagnosis of ASD. Autism Spectrum Disorder is characterized by restrictive interests and communication-social skills deficits.
North Georgia Autism Foundation (NGAF), Inc. was originally formed to help fill significant gaps in Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) services in our local area. Early detection and intense intervention can dramatically change the life of a child with ASD. It quickly became obvious that life span support services were also lacking. NGAF expanded its mission to support individuals with disabilities from birth through life.
Our mission is to remove barriers and increase access to early clinical diagnosis, treatment services, career development and life span support for Autistic individuals and their families in North Georgia and surrounding areas.
Our Vision is to be a valued resource for Autistic Individuals and others with Developmental Disabilities. We will support their families, professionals and others by increasing capacity and understanding of evidence based programs, treatment and information.
Our goal is to enhance the lives of Autistic individuals and others with Developmental Disorders through innovative individualized programming and advocacy.
