Technology Senior Executive
David is currently an advisor to CD&R Private Equity (one of the oldest and largest PE firms) & also serves as an executive coach to executives in the software industry. In July 2020 he left his position of President, One Identity, a Quest business.
David joined Quest in December 2017 as the president for Data Protection and Unified End Point Management. In November 2018, he became responsible for leading all aspects of the One Identity business. He has over 20 years of security and systems management experience, delivering consistent revenue growth and leading high-performing organizations.
Prior to Quest, David was CEO of Core Security, a leader in identity, vulnerability, and early network detection solutions. Prior to Core, he led worldwide field operations for Damballa, a venture-backed, leading provider of advanced threat protection. In this capacity, David oversaw all customer related functions, including support, services, alliances, channels, presales and sales. During his tenure, the organization experienced record, triple digit growth. As CEO of Core, David acquired Damballa in 2016.
David was previously senior vice president responsible for leading CA technologies' security field operations. CA’s security business experienced approximately 300% growth during his tenure. Prior to CA, David spent many years in leadership positions at BMC Software, and has held executive positions with two additional, venture-backed firms where he ran worldwide sales, support and services.
David currently sits on three external boards of companies in the security space - Cyren (NASDAQ : CTCH) , WhiteSource, and Coreblox (not an active position at this time).
David earned a B.B.A. in finance from Texas Tech University, where he was captain of the tennis team. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Elizabeth. They have two children. Emili, who just graduated from The University of Wisconsin and Paige, who recently graduated from The University of South Carolina. David enjoys fly fishing, mountain biking, golfing and cooking at their place in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
