Diane M. Hasset
Colwell Probation Detention Center
Hassett began her career with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in 1980. During her 20-year tenure with the Sheriff’s Office, she served in many capacities: Secretary, Correctional Deputy, Counselor, Criminal Justice Liaison and Work Release Supervisor.
Hassett joined the Georgia Department of Corrections at Colwell Probation Detention Center upon relocating to Georgia in October of 2000. She began as a Counselor and within her first year was promoted to Senior Counselor in January of 2001 and Assistant Superintendent in November of 2001. Hassett was appointed as Superintendent at Colwell Probation Detention Center in 2007.
Hassett received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from St. Thomas University in 1984, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University in 2008. Her departmental training includes: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Management Training (BMT), Correctional Leadership Institute (CLI), Pre-Command, and Command College.
Hassett resides in Morganton, Georgia with her husband Steve and their five dogs.
